Well my Mom wanted to share my designs and products with her friends, so we held a craft show at her house this summer. It was a lot of fun to meet everyone and I am looking forward to doing another one around the holiday season. I am thinking of screenprinting my designs onto tea towels and possibly napkins, mainly because I want to have some of my own, so why not create them myself, and if others like them then that's great too!

New Products
I am entering a new dimension...I'm learning to screenprint my designs onto fabric, specifically shirts and scarves right now, but fabric is fabric and who knows what else I could print on?! Right now I use a product called PhotoEZ stencils, which work great for now, but I think I'll experiment with painting directly onto fabric.
The only problems so far are limited funds, since there are so many shirts I want to buy from Alternative Apparel! I have a ton of ideas and am excited to see the evolution of this new adventure.

A Successful Show!
The craft show was a success! Well I only made a few sales...it was a slow day for all the vendors, but the "experience" was a success and I am looking forward to the next event.
One thing about these craft shows (in my extensive experience) is that all the vendors seemed ready to support one another. I met several who also sell on etsy or who were just getting started, and others who have been doing shows for years. Everyone was very welcoming and ready to offer encouragement and ideas. Even without the high sales this made the day a success for me. I left with lots of ideas for my "booth" and locations for future shows.

My first craft show!
This week I am getting ready for my first craft show! Other than helping my daughter sell girl scout cookies, and working at the Gap in high school, this is my first "in-person" selling adventure with MY designs. Hopefully this will be the first of many shows.
I will be at the Rat City Rummage in White Center - Seattle WA on Saturday, March 28 from 12 - 6 pm.
White Center for the Arts Building
The Big Blue Skate Rink
9639 - 16th Ave SW
Seattle WA 98126
I will be sure to post any helpful hints from this show asap.
